Ardie Bryant

ARDIE BRYANT is a consummate performer.  A world class jazz tap percussionist, he also sings, plays trumpet and drums, and does comedy and impersonations.

He is a dedicated jazz tap preservationist, and is honored to have his dance memories, and the sounds of his percussive feet preserved in the archives of the SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTE.

Ardie’s brilliant choreography and tap performance will be featured in the full length animated film BETTY BOOP.  He is currently appearing in AT&T, NUTRA-SWEET, and BUDWEISER commercials, and was chosen as a subject in the photo book A DAY IN THE LIFE OF HOLLYWOOD.

Ardie recently starred in a 30 state, 70 city tour saluting BENNY GOODMAN, and a feature about him aired on network and cable television worldwide.  He starred in Canada in the CALGARY STAMPEDE GRANDSTAND SHOW where he played to over a quarter of a million people in ten days.

In his teens, he danced with jazz legends CHARLIE PARKER, DIZZY GILLESPIE, ART TATUM, ERROLL GARNER and LIONEL HAMPTON.  They inspired him to develop his own style of dance, utilizing his feet like a musical instrument to challenge and compliment the complex rhythms of jazz.  To further enhance the percussive element of his style, he designed his unique drum dance platform.

Ardie was privileged to perform with DUKE ELLINGTON, COUNT BASIE, WOODY HERMAN, SARAH VAUGHAN, and NAT KING COLE at major venues such as the PALACE, PARAMOUNT, APOLLO theatres, and CARNEGIE HALL.  He toured the FAR EAST for the State Department, and has won international acclaim on his many trips around the world.
